I'm not sure. If it was a room of its own, I'm certain it would take on an all wood, Victorian-style architecture; maybe have one of those giant, multi-floor ones (if possible) that requires ladders to reach all the shelves.
Though I could be fine with a more modern style if built into the bedroom, etc. like above. There's something that tickles me about having lines of shelves built right above the place where you sleep, almost enveloping you.
How 'bout yours?
@thirst2 - It seems we have similar taste! I also love the idea of the Victorian, multi-floor library. (I love Victorian anything!) Bonus points for ornate spiral staircases between floors. I like the idea of having ladders to reach the shelves, too, preferably the rolling ones that are attached to the shelves and roll along the top. Something similar to the ones that Borders used to have. Do you know what I'm talking about? That's my ideal library.
I also saw a picture once of a little reading nook, kind of inside a cabinet. With the doors closed, that's what it looks like: a big cabinet. When you open the doors, there's a window seat with bookshelves all around it. I like that too. Really, I'd be fine with anything as long as there are shelves and shelves of books involved!

I think this is one of the most beautiful pictures I've seen in awhile. I would do just about anything for this.
@LovesTwo - I've already decided I am putting away a saving for a house of my own design someday.
An intricately ornate library (built into the bedroom or otherwise) is a requirement.
@thirst2 - A house must always have a library, or at least be full of books! What will this library look like?
@LovesTwo - I completely agree.
