  • Hmm, with all the people who had threatened me for not doing color wars I almost thought I should try to see if I could do it still. Anyway, my mother was going on about Obama again. Which got me to think about the 200 election. Now, while I'm a dead-fast liberal (as all too many know...), I'm not going to simply vote for a candidate simply because they're Democrat. Unfortunately for the Republicans, I still don't like the candidate anyway. However - neither do I like the Democrats. While I probably would be shot and murdered by other Democrats, I'll be damned before seeing another Clinton in the White House. I mean, more than half, if not everything (to my knowledge) that he claimed he did and worked to do was either BS or simply to help his campaign. He was way to willing to do whatever it took for popular appeal. And now why should I vote for his wife? I'm afraid that I only have her husband to base off for her but she hasn't really given me a reason to vote for her either. And then there's Obama. True, he's younger. It'd be a break, most likely, from old politics. A change could be used, maybe. But he seems to have a Clinton streak.... I loved both of their responses to the gay rights issue. "Well, it's a personal choice." Yes,  and that's going to protect against hate crimes and discrimination, how? And then after pushed hard enough, they kinda let slip they really don't agree with it but it's not their choice to make. You don't agree with it? Fine. I won't vote for you. But don't stand there and try to side step the answer so I get you into the White House and then you don't follow through on what you promised me. Geez, least the Republicans are upfront about it, even if I don't agree with the opinion. And, c'mon: Democrats are supposed to be the pro-gay politcal party - and yet a Republican candidate (Arnold S.) has done more for gay rights than any Democrate in that flipping state in the past 5 years. Are you kidding me? Come on. Or how about Obama's graceful attempt to allure the voters of one location by telling them his parents met there or something. And then when we find out they didn't, he tried to cover it up by saying it was a theoretical or metaphorical statement (right...). As much as it's sad to say it this way but politics these days are strictly that - politics. How many votes can I get in what way? Screw the Democrat/Republican fighting. Both parties are disappointing to me. When 2008 roles around, I'll probably cast for Obama. But that's only because he's the most tolerable figure out of the upcoming runners. And barely at that.
