After tirelessly working for a week, I finish all my work and get ready for the break...just to sleep through 6 alarms and miss my flight and all shuttle buses for today.
I really wish I didn't have this penchant for fucking everything up all the time...

Ouch. Mega bummer.
Fukking stuff up is stock in trade for most of us one time or another. And hey--you did work hard. Props for that.
First, don’t beat yourself too hard, Have the folk at home take lots of pic and vid. Or have them set up a webcam or something.
If you’re stuck there, treat yourself. A meal out and a good flick. Is there anyone who won’t mind a party crasher?
Will you be going home for Christmas? You’ll look back on this and have a hearty embarrassed guffaw..
I hope I don’t sound dismissive or too stiff-upper-lip-be-of-good-cheer. It’s a special heartache missing out on a family holiday.
@wrybreadspread - Thanks wry, I really appreciate it.
I was able to find a ride and my uncle put me on standby so I'll be able to go home.
I guess the part that really irritated me, on top of missing everyone, was that I managed to screw something up again. I mean, parents paid money for the ticket, I got all my work done, everyone's waiting to see me, plus my birthday was absolutely amazing - all I have to do is make the shuttle bus, and I screw that up.
About a year and half back, so well before either of us knew of the other one, I have a xanga entry that just says, "College is helping me discover I have a fantastic guilt complex," (I actually just looked it up and that's not exactly what it says, but that's how I remember it, which probably says just as much about what I think of the topic). Just further iterations on that.
