Horst: I do. I love you. Isn't that silly?
...what are you doing?
Max [arranging the pile of rocks]: Arranging these. We've been sloppy. They could beat you for it.
Don't love me.
Horst: It's my secret.
Max: Don't love me.
Horst: It makes me happy.
And I have a signal. When I rub my left eyebrow at you, like this, it means, "I love you." I bet you didn't know that.
Max: Don't love me.
Horst: I can't help it.
Max: I don't want anyone to love me.
Horst: Too bad.
Max: I can't love anybody back.
Horst: Who's asking you to?
Max: Queers aren't meant to love - they don't want us to!
You don't love me, you don't love me...

Was this from the play inside the play Angels in America?
@cermetk - I'm not sure. I never watched the whole Angels in America. It's from the play Bent.
Your humble servant the dogmatic hetero stands on the periphery regarding the scene. He cannot help but acknowledge the subtle currents at work.
Great tumults take place in the world. Blood is spilt like monsoon rain. Precious lives are snuffed out with no more thought than swatting a mosquito. The quiet scene is in marked contrast to the conflicts that rage unchecked.
Your servant sees one of them, who has times past extended a hand of friendship, raise his head up in notice.
Each knows where the other stands. The dogmatic hetero, if prompted, is prepared to share his thoughts and feelings on the topic their views do not overlap on. But he has recieved no such prompt. Another time, when "Max" or "Horst" deign to visit him. Then an exchange of opinions will take place. This is one of the rules of the realm. it is how rational discussion takes place.
The dogmatic one remembers the words of Francis of Asissi. "Preach the Gospel: if necessary, use words." In his heart he hopes and prayes for the welbeing of God on the hearts and souls of all.
and each waves in passing to the other.
@wrybreadspread - You are occassionally hyperbolic, my friend.
Your opinions are always welcome; I was the one who subscribed to you, if you remember.
We may not always agree, but I do respect your thoughts and opinions.
@thirst2 -
I remember that you made the initial contact. I refered to that.
(dude-you're making me work for my plaudits)
@wrybreadspread - Ah, that you did. Dunno how I missed that.
Haha, and work well done. I was ever so slightly terrified you might not rise to the occasion (the sliver of a doubt, instinctual cynicism only, I swear) but my apprehensions were put to rest.
