Yes. I understand perfectly. What are the words beyond the words? What is implied?
“Live circumspectly. There are those who I am told don’t. I only know what I see and hear. You and I are important. Our good reputations are also important. We want to leave a good world behind us. This is my way of telling you that I love you.”
It is the parental was to always try and impart a lesson. It is engrained. It is the way of the Great Depression and WW2 generations and their immediate descendants to express love in primarily a manner that ensures food, clothing, and shelter, and orderly society. It is the way of latter generations to major in the warm fuzzies--and I have to wonder sometimes if that includes fuzzy thinking brought about by too much extra money and time.
Speaking of time---time will be the judge of what is strong and unshakeable.
Even if I’m a million miles off the beam, I know you. You’re gonna love and tolerate your mom. She loves and tolerates you. The chemistry of intangible bonds surpasses the chemistry of DNA in complexity.
