In the 1950's I sort of thought the classic Warner Bros. & Max Flescher cartoons were cool. In the 1960's I sort of looked down on the animation of the 1930's-40's. Taken up with the Hanna Barbera vintage: Flintstones, Jetsons, etc. It got worst when Johny Quest came out. I wanted the adventure content. The craft and quality of the animation was utterly lost on me.
I see the light, now, of course. This stuff compared to Pixar is like comparing modern cars to the Model T. But 2 astounding things. The old stuff holds up so well—like the old B&W films; and they're accessible through the video sites. 10-q for sharing.
